De melodie is van het bekende kinderlied Kortjakje. De tekst is :

Zondags gaat zij naar de kerk , met een boek vol zilverwerk.

Dit is een fragment uit: “Een nieuw lied, van Ragel Valderappus” (de 17e eeuw) De melodie komt uit Frankrijk en heeft daar de titel “Ah, vous dirai-je Maman”. De oudste Nederlandse bron in een liedboek uit 1740, waar het de titel “Klapper mantje” heeft.
Mozart componeerde 12 variaties op dit thema in 1785.
In Engeland in het bekend als “Twinkle, twinkle, Little star” (1806)
De melodie is gearrangeerd voor kerkorgel en trompet.

The tune comes from the well know childrens song ‘twinkle twinkle little star’. The lyrics are as follows:

This is an extract from ‘A New Song’ by the 17th century composer Ragel Valderappus. The tune has its origins in France with the title ‘Ah, vous dirai-je Maman’. The oldest Dutch source with the title ‘Klapper Mantje’ was found in a song book dating from 1740. In 1785 Mozart composed twelve (12) variations on the theme. In English speaking countries the tune is associated with the nursery rhyme ‘Twinkle, twinkle little star’ (1806).
The tune you hear has been arranged for church organ and trumpet.
